today i am excited to join over 40 taylored expressions past & present design team members in celebrating TE's 10th birthday! to celebrate this awesome occasion TE released several new products last night which are all available now in the TE shop.

for today's birthday blog hop i've created a magical card with one of my favorite previously released TE stamp sets. and don't forget to head over to the TE blog for a list of everyone participating in the birthday blog hop - so many fun cards have been created especially for today.

 

my card features a dragon from the previously released magical day stamp & die combo. he was paper pieced with a bunch of scraps & i added a bit of glitter to his wings & tummy. for the background of clouds i used the set the scene - clouds stencil strips. so that the clouds would be in a circular region i die cut a large circle from a piece of scrap paper & attached it to the card base. then i used the cloud stencils to apply ink inside the cut out circle. the sentiment was stamped in ink colors that perfectly matched my dragon - earl grey premium ink & pineapple premium ink. to complete my card i added a few sugar cube enamel shapes along the bottom row of clouds.

today is november release day over at taylored expressions - all new products are now available in the te webstore. the card i am sharing today features the new build a scene - calendar 5x7 die set. the frame fits perfectly onto a card front & the extra elements work well for creating a little scene.


i pulled out a previously released stamp set for the focal point of my scene. i used the little houses from the under the toadstool set & paper pieced them with a few scraps of patterned paper. for the tiny little bits - like the doors & windows - i colored the coordinating die cut base with markers.

the project i'm sharing today was created with two craft dies from the new initially collection of monogram dies. each die set comes with a large upper case letter as well as a small upper case and small lower case letter. i used the large dies to die cut fabric for my appliqued monogram dish towels.



the large dies will cut nicely from a charm square or similarly sized scrap of fabric. i applied fusible web to the back of a charm square before running through my die cut machine. then i used the raw edge applique technique for each monogram.

this month taylored expressions is releasing a few products designed for creating quick & fun yearly calendars. i used the 2017 3x4 calendar cards to create a few inserts for my 2017 project life album. i used the new build a scene - calendar 2 die set paired with the calendar critters stamp set which was released last november.



here's a close-up of my penguin. i paper pieced all 3 of my critters & then used the build a scene - calendar & build a scene - calendar 2 die sets to create a little scene. i plan on using these fun calendars in my project life at the beginning of each month .

and here's my card - i cut the wreath from granny smith cardstock & inked up the card base with peapod ink. i saved the two large negative pieces to use as a mask & applied the ink with a blending tool to create the dark green arc.


to dress up the wreath a bit i die cut the bow with the previously released mini mix & match bows die set & the teal jingle bells were die cut with the new little bits - jingle bells die set. the inside of wreath is sized perfectly to fit a large sentiment - the one i chose is from the previously released sing of the season sentiment set.

this guy is one of my favorites this month - the new snowman shaker die set. the die set quickly cuts the pieces for a snowman shaker element - or as i have done you can give him a fun patterned paper belly. i went with a nontraditional bright color scheme & was able to use up lots of scraps from previous projects.


also new this month is the die set all wrapped up - and my happy snowman is holding a couple of gifts created with this die set. the packages are sized to fit perfectly in his arms & also work well with the new dashing through the snow die set.
