winter break has come to an end - so i made this little guy for my 2018 project life album. i covered the chipboard snowman with a bit of distress paint then embellished him with a few little pieces die cut from patterned paper & fabric scraps.

my first card for today is my favorite this month - that monkey graduate is from the new grad grumplings stamp & die combo. and he is standing on top of a new congrats script sentiment die cut.


as usual i paper pieced my grumpling with a bunch of scraps. and since he is a couple of layers thick of patterned paper i stacked a few 'congrats' die cuts to give the sentiment the same amount of dimension. the little streamers were cut with dies from the previously released little bits - champagne flutes set - or, the little bits - celebration confetti die set would work well too.   

to create my 'congrats' card i used the following supplies available in the te shop:

and my second card for today would also work well for a graduate or for someone heading off on a new adventure. the little guy & the airplane were created with the new sky high - airplane die set. the die set coordinates with the previously released sky high - sentiments stamp set. also new this month & that coordinate with the stamp set are the sky high - kites & sky high - rocket die sets.


i used various scraps of patterned papers & te premium cardstocks to create the scene. and with all the little pieces i made sure to apply an adhesive sheet piece to each scrap before die cutting the pieces.

today i am sharing a card i created with the pockets & pages - august script die set by taylored expressions. all twelve months of pockets & pages script dies are now available over in the te shop.


this clever owl was stamped & paper pieced - the 'a+' he is holding along with the 'bookworm' were both cut with dies from the pockets & pages - august script set. i used chalkstock for the background - along with a dusting of chalk - and then heat embossed the 'to my favorite' portion of the sentiment.

this week is the taylored expressions august sneak peek & release week. lots of school & sports themed stamps & dies released this month to mix & match - everything will be available for purchase on thursday, august 7th at 7am pdt. and be sure to scroll to the bottom of this post for details on a giveaway.

my first project for today features the new pencil topper craft die that i paired with the new smarty pants rubber stamp set & smarty pants craft die set to make a couple of back to school pencil toppers.

my smarty pants cat & owl were colored with markers then die cut before they found a place to rest on the chalkstock/chalkboard cardstock. i used a bit of crayola chalk on the chalkstock to create a place for each of them to sit.

and my card for today is also sort of school themed - i used the eyeglasses craft die along with a sentiment from the new talk nerdy to me rubber stamp sentiment set to create a card that can be given to one's favorite nerd.


i die cut the eyeglasses a few times from cardstock then stacked them up & wrapped a thin piece of silver washi tape around them. the background is chalkboard paint that was stamped with one of the brush strokes from the stroke of genius rubber stamp set. finished it off with a sentiment stamped with cotton white opaque ink.

not classes - just meetings. so to finish off my summer i decided to go school-themed for  this month's a muse challenge - stick to the pattern. i was actually able to work in to my design the only piece of a muse patterned paper i own - but it's just sort of hidden behind the ruler paper. see those scallops - i punched them out of this a muse paper. and of course the school stamp is a muse, as well.
