a simple front for this thanksgiving greetings card - with a bit of pop-up fun on the inside...

looks like i took a bit of an unplanned blog break the past month. i've still been making things - just haven't gotten around to taking any photos.

i made this card about a month ago for the release of the sweetest season stamp collection by stacey yacula for purple onion designs. and starting tomorrow - friday 11/23 - all stamps in the purple onion designs online store will be 25% off. this sale will last through sunday 12/2.

when i made this card the plan was to use it for one of my monthly purple onion designs projects, then send it off in an operation write home box. but before the card made it to the pod blog, or into the owh box, it ended up in the latest volume of stamp it! cards from paper crafts magazine.

when creating the card i stuck with shades of gray for the post office so that the flag would stand out - i also stamped the flag on a scrap of cardstock then attached the flag to the card base with a tiny glue dot so it would pop off the card base a bit. and lastly i added a bit more color to the card with some quick machine stitching.

and my final card that i created for the release of the stamp set designed by stacey yacula for purple onion designs - kept this one about as simple as i could.

i used a non-christmas stamp set for the chirstmas tree on today's card - the tree is the roof of a house and the trunk is a sun ray. but with brown and green ink they make a pretty good christmas tree.
