this week is taylored expressions august release week & today is all about halloween treat packaging! all new products will be available for purchase thursday, august 4th at 7am pdt. and today there is a question of the day over on the te blog...

taylored expressions is celebrating release week with some fabulous giveaways. visit the te blog each sneak peek day this week to answer Taylor’s Question of the Day for a chance to win a prize from the latest release!

today i am sharing this pair halloween treat holders created with the previously released test tube caddy craft die & a couple of new halloween themed little bits die sets. and for a bit of added interest i pulled out a couple of te embossing folders.


behind each test tube i added a strip of embossed cardstock using the new fright night flight embossing folder & the previously released tangled webs embossing folder. the embossed cardstock strip is a super quick & easy way to add a bit of dimension & interest to each caddy.


i assembled the new little bits - cauldron & little bits - spider & web die cuts & then added a touch of glitter to the brewing potion & the spider. to help create the two little scenes i used the log die cut from the new by the fireside die set & i used a bit of white thread to hang the spider from his web. the "eek!" sentiment is new this month & is from the boo to you sentiment set. the "boo" sentiment is from the previously released peek-a-boo pumpkins stamp set.

today is sneak peek day 2 of our taylored expressions november release which will be available for purchase on thursday, november 5th at 7am pst. also, don't forget that today you have another chance to win a release week giveaway over on the te blog.


my first project for today is a tag i created for a wrapped christmas gift. the base of the tag was die cut with the tag die from the build a tag 2 die set. the red & white stripes were die cut with the new basket weave cutting plate & then cut into a square with a die from the build a tag 4 set. see the ombre effect i created with the red stripes? i used 3 different te premium cardstock colors - watermelon, cherry pop & red pepper. 


the teal square was die cut with a die from the build a tag 2 set & then embossed with the new on the spot embossing folder. to create the tiny little scallops i used a die from the new mini color block cutting plate & then pieced together the die cut little bits - christmas tree.


on the backside of the tag i stamped a sentiment from the new p.s. your welcome stamp set - this unique stamp set features 6 sentiments sized to fit on gift tags created for handmade gifts.  then i added a die cut snowflake charm that was cut with a die from the new holiday charms die set.

my next project is a card i created with one of the new 3x4 watercolor panels - this panel comes from the keep in touch set. i used a tiny bit of blue color burst to create the background, then colored the flowers with inktense pencils & a couple of distress markers.


to finish off the scene i die cut a bit of grass with the grass border die & added the little bits - bumble bee die cut. i matted the watercolor panel onto a piece of poppy seed cardstock that was embossed with the new on the spot embossing folder.

today is day 3 of the taylored expressions february release sneak peeks - tomorrow all of the new products will be available in the te shop at 7am pst. also, don't forget that today you have one more chance to win a giveaway over on the te blog.


first up today is a st. patrick's day tag - the base of the tag was created with the new build a tag 3 die set. and a few other new die sets also make an appearance - the shamrocks were die cut with the new little bits - shamrocks die set & the tiny strip of rings is one of the five new border dies in the skinny mini borders 2 die set.


i was able to cut everything i needed for this tag with one pass through my cuttlebug. i used little scraps of paper from the double the fun 6x6 paper pack & rainbow brights 6x6 paper pack for the shamrocks. and that tiny little heart die cut from yesterday makes an appearance again today - this time with a coat of glitter on top.

it had been a while since i made a little sack using the sack it to you die set - so with the newest addition to the sack it collection i made this little lamb sack. the new sack it - lamb die set comes with all the little pieces needed to create this guy except for the bow. the bow is from the previously released die set mini mix & match bows.


being that i was putting together a little lamb it seemed appropriate to use te 100% wool felt for all of his pieces. for a stable sack base i used white textured cardstock - i applied just a bit of antique linen distress ink with an ink blending tool to the cardstock so that it would better match the marshmallow felt.

the card i'm sharing today features a new in & out sentiment stamp set - in & out thanks. i had one of my besties in mind when i made this card - when crumbs bake shop was still around we would frequent it often. this guy here is ready to eat his cupcake with a fork i die cut using the new die set bon appetit. and that strip of stars - it was cut with a die from the skinny mini borders die set.


and here's a view of the inside of my card. the in & out thanks stamp set is designed so that the sentiment on the outside of the card can be carried through to the inside.

my next project for today is a potion bottle decorated for an autumn treat. i embossed a strip of toffe cardstock with the new burlap embossing folder & then used the new napkin ring craft die to create a label for my bottle of m&ms. i left off the center label die cut so that the candy peaks through behind the leaf and acorn - they were cut with dies that are part of the new tag-a-long autumn die set. the little acron was also embossed with the burlap embossing folder and the leaf was embossed with the scattered leaves embossing folder.

today begins our taylored expressions november sneak peeks with release day on thursday. this month we are featuring new items for autumn & gift giving. everything will be available for purchase on thursday, november 6th at 7am pst. and be sure to scroll to the bottom of this post for details on a giveaway.


my first project today is a framed calendar featuring the 2015 3x4 calendar cards. the calendar cards fit right inside this 4x6 frame i found at michael's - the cards are clipped together atop a piece of cork i slid into the frame. and if you are a project lifer/pocket scrapbooker then once each month is up just slip the calendar card in one of your pocket pages.

for january i used the little owl & tree branch from the woodland winter set along with a sentiment from the set. and with gift giving in mind i put together a little tag. the background was cut with the new loop-de-loo cutting plate & the sentiment is a punchables - christmas cardstock circle. punchables are new this month - the christmas set comes with 30 1.5-inch circles pre-printed on cardstock.  

my next project for today is a movie night themed gift card tin. for the top of the hinged tin i used the new tin topper die and the new little bits - movie night dies which make cuts that fit perfectly inside the scalloped circle. the sentiment is from the new sentiment set small packageswhich has a bunch of sentiments that fit right inside the open portion of the tin topper die cut.

for the inside i used the previously released gift card frame craft die to make a cut that fits inside the lid of the tin. the little to/from die cuts are new dies that are part of the on display tin insert set. this set also has a die that creates an insert to hold a gift card, necklace or earrings.

today is day 3 of the taylored expressions september sneak peeks - you can find a checklist of all the new products here & everything will be available for purchase tomorrow at 7am pdt. and don't forget about the sketch challenge with a $250 gift certificate prize.


my first project for today is a muslin bag perfect for holding halloween candy. i used the sack it - pumpkin craft die which is one of the three halloween themed dies that are new to the sack it collection. the pumpkin is about 4.5 inches across & fits well onto a 6x7 inch muslin bag.


i used a bunch of fabric scraps to piece together the jack o' lantern design. before die cutting the fabric pieces i applied fusible web to the back of the fabric - then ironed all of the pieces onto the muslin bag.



next up is another halloween project - a card featuring the new rubber stamp full moon & the new harlequin embossing folder. also added in a bit patterned paper from the hocus pocus 6x6 paper pack.

the full moon image was stamped onto a piece of white cardstock that was die cut using the largest label stacklets 8 die. i used a bit of paper piecing & coloring with markers to fill in the image. so that the sentiment would pop off of the striped moon i also stamped the image onto vellum & placed this on top of the striped patterned paper.

my first project for today shows off the sack it - dinosaur die set that can be used with the sack-it to you die set - or as i did here with the tag pocket die to create a gift card holder.

to create this guy i used the tag pocket for his body - i scored along the top so that i could slip the gift card under his head & into the pocket. then i die cut all of the pieces that are part of the sack it - dinosaur die set from cardstock & patterned paper and then put him together.



my second project for today features the new triangles cutting plate & the new die set robots that coordinates with the previously released rubber stamp set far out.

my robot was first die cut from cardstock to create the gray out line - then stamped several times on patterned paper. all his little pieces were easy to cut out & piece together since they are mostly rectangles. he's standing on a road of triangles which is just a strip cut with the cutting plate.

today we have another day of taylored expressions february release sneak peeks. my project today - a little burlap sack for seeds & coordinating tag - features the new releases big bold easter stamp set & floral eyelet border craft die as well as previously relased tag stacklets 2 & tiptoe through the tulips craft dies. all the new stamp sets, craft dies & cutting plates will be available for purchase in the te shop this thursday, february 6th at 7am pst.

this project came together quickly - to adhere the tulip die-cut to the burlap sack i used fusible web - adhere the fusible web to the fabric with a warm iron, die-cut as usual, remove paper backing and adhere die-cut fabric pieces to sack with warm iron.

today is day 1 of the taylored expressions february release sneak peek posts. this month there a 7 new stamp sets, 11 new craft die sets & 4 new cutting plates - and everything be available for purchase on thursday, february 6th at 7am pst.

my first sneak peek features the new stamp graphic greetings - st. paddy's day. after stamping the block of sentiments onto patterned paper i used a previously released label die from the label stacklets 7 set to frame a few of the sentiments. the little shamrock pops off the paper a bit for some added dimension.

here's a close-up of the shamrock - i stamped the image with green distress ink & colored it in with a copic marker. next i trimmed around the image leaving a bit of white around the border & added a gold glitter enamel dot to the center.

project #2 for today is a little treat sack using the new die set sack it - chick which coordinate with the previously released sack it to you die set. i added some grass for the little guy to sit in using the grass border die.

a side view of the chick - i used felt for his wings & feathers, polka dot cardstock for his beak & feet, his belly is vellum & enamel dots for his eyes. so he is made up of several differnet textures from my craft supply stash.

i have a couple more projects to share using stamp sets from the taylored expressions decemeber release - this one being my favorite this month. i used the watson petite stamp set to dress-up a little 3x4 muslin bag. here's a quick of list of steps to recreate the doggie bag:

1. apply fusible web to fabric scraps
2. stamp doggie onto fabric scraps
3. die-cut doggie and trim around his collar and white eye patch
4. iron fabric pieces onto muslin bag
5. adhere wood star to collar

and then to finish off the doggie bag on the back i stamped this paw print heart image which is also one of the stamps in the watson set. i was thinking it'd be kinda cute to add a doggie's initals inside the paw print.

and today's second project is a quick card using the from me to you petite stamp set which comes with four sentiments and a coordinating frame die-cut.

here's a close-up of the stamped sentiment and frame. to create the card adhere a strip of patterned paper along on side of the card. die-cut the frame then stamp the frame image and sentiment. finish it off with a couple of enamel dots.

a quick little gift box/treat container i made for the purple onion designs blog this month. i used my silhouette to cut out the box - then pieced together some die-cuts and stamped images for the award medallion which holds the lid closed.

a few weeks back i walked through the garment district on my way to buy some popcorn. i will walk many, many blocks for garrett popcorn. along the way i visited a couple of bead shops and ended up with this little 5" tall brown bag full of beads - well not really full, like half full. and then, of course, i decided to save the bag just in case i need a little 5" tall bag for something in the future. turns out that something ended up being a gift bag, stamped up with purple onion designs stamps, for some future gift giving purpose.

my second project from my online sewing class - a drawstring top gift pouch. of course, the awesomest thing about this little bag - i made it about 6x8 - is that now when i can't remember how many stops it is to 42nd street i no longer need to pull out my iphone. i'll just check my bag. before i leave next year i plan on buying like a bazillion yards of this fabric. lucky for me, the store i shop at in the city - they are the ones who designed the fabric.

made this gift box about a year ago using a couple of purple onion designs stamps. then it ended up in this year's issue of holiday cards and more - a special issue from paper crafts magazine. the magazine has been out for a while, but you can still find it in stores or online here. a complete list of supplies & instructions for this project can be found on p.101.

these are the 2 projects that i had in scrapbook trends stamping idea book that came out a couple of months ago. both feature purple onion designs stamps, and i think i've shown both projects on here before. the decorated wooden bag was one of the projects i made when i was trying out for the pod team. and the card was made to show off the date me stamps set when it was released last fall. and speaking of new stamps, there is a new stamp release over at pod and 'til the end of the month all stamps are 25% off.

i'm way ahead of schedule this year - already thinking about mother's day. the "M" is from the homegrown hospitality alphabet and the flowers are from the doodle flowers sentiment set both by purple onion designs . i made a matching card too, but not going to share it til mother's day. and, this just happens to fit the current challenge going on over at the paper crafts blog. hopefully i'll get a chance to make a few other things for the challenge some time this week. probably going to try and make a card set.

a call went out last year for projects that re-use packaging. so i emptied out pillow box full of making memories epoxy shapes and decorated it up for valentine's day. you can find the directions for making the box in paper crafts newest special issue 225 cards & gifts. and all next week on the moxie fab and paper crafts blogs they will be posting lots of projects from this issue and giving away lots of prizes. check it out. they've already posted a few projects and a challenge.
