back to the drawing board

up today is a card i created with the fine feathers die set from taylored expressions. i paired the negative die cut feathers with a sentiment from the simply stamped - daises set. or, for other similar sentiments you could use a sentiment from the free spirit stamp set.


to create these colorful feathers i first die cut the feathers from a white cardstock panel a bit smaller than the card base. it will take two passes through a die cut machine as i overlapped the feathers a bit. then i inked up the lower left quadrant of the card base with two distress inks - being sure to blend them together well where they overlapped. with the panel placed onto the card front the blended ink colors show through the negative portion of the die cut feathers.

today is the january petite-a-palooza release day over at taylored expressions - all of the new products we've been sharing sneaks of this week are now available in the te shop.
my card for today features the new simply succulents stamp & die combo & the new tab edger die. the succulents stamp set comes with a few different pots of succulents & a few sentiments.


i paper pieced my potted succulent & i used my stamp positioned to make sure that i stamped the pot in just the right spot on the white & yellow striped paper. and i used the tab edger die cut as a little shelf to hold my succulent.

today is day 3 of our taylored expressions january petite-a-palooza release sneak peeks - tomorrow all of the new products will be available for purchase in the te shop at 7am pst. also, don't forget that today you have one more chance to win a release week giveaway over on the te blog.

my first card for today is my favorite of the projects i created for this release. this card features the new under the flower stamp & die combo as well as the new stitched scallop edger die.


for the stitched scallops i inked up a piece of watercolor cardstock with distress spray stain. i sprayed the cardstock a few times letting it dry in between each round of spraying. then i die cut the stitched scallops & stitched them down. the little gnome girl was colored with copics & her outfit was paper pieced with a few patterned paper scraps.

and up next is a fun underwater themed card featuring the new oceans of fun stamp & die combo along with the new picture perfect - smile die set. i also pulled out the previously released build a scene - rolling waves & my bubbles embossing folder to complete the scene.


all of the underwater creatures were stamped onto cardstock & a matching patterned paper. i die cut the cardstock images & fussy cut the patterned paper images then pieced them together. then i added a bit of glitter to all of the circles on each of them.

today is sneak peek day 2 of our taylored expressions january petite-a-palooza release -  all new products will be available for purchase on thursday, january 7th at 7am pst. also, don't forget that today you have another chance to win a release week giveaway over on the te blog!

first up is a card featuring the new sign of the times stamp & die combo. this set comes with the sign post & several different types of sentiments that fit into the sign. i colored the sign post with a variety of copics & paper pieced the sign with a sentiment from the set.


the background for my card was die cut with a die from the stitched square stacklets set & then inked with distress ink. to finish off the scene i used the gate die from the garden arbor & gate die set to create a fence. and then i stitched down the wispy grass border die cut from peapod cardstock.

next up is a card i created with the new koffee time stamp & die combo. this set has a few coffee themed sentiments & a die set that creates a couple of mugs & a brewing machine.


i used one of the mug dies to create a stack of mugs die cut from several colors of cardstock. after die cutting the mugs i used the new flower power embossing folder to create the flower design. and one of the mugs i didn't emboss but added a fun face from the little bits - spare parts die set.

today begins our taylored expressions january sneak peek posts! this month is petite-a-palooza - te is releasing 13 brand new stamp & die combo sets as well as new edger dies & 3 new embossing folders. all new products will be available for purchase on thursday, january 7th at 7am pst. and be sure to scroll to the bottom of this post for details about the january release giveaway!


my first card for today features the new happy hens stamp & die combo. along with the new petite stamp & die combo i used the new block party - hello die & the new chicken wire embossing folder.


i paper pieced this happy hen with a bunch of patterned paper scraps & set her atop the hello sentiment die cut. along with cutting the 'hello' from the card base i also cut the 'hello' from a blue piece of patterned paper that was embossed with the new chicken wire embossing folder.


and my second card for today features a new die - let's talk edger 2. there are 2 let's talk edgers this month along with 2 other types of edger dies - so there are 4 of these new edger dies this month. also making an appearance on this card is the little fox from the new forest friends stamp & die combo.   


i paper pieced this guy as well & set him atop the tiny grass borders that were cut with a die from the previously released build a scene - calendar die set. i wanted a sentiment that would fill a large portion of the die cut & the sentiments from the in & out collection work well for this. i decided a sentiment from the in & out - thanks stamp set would work well with the little fox.
