up on the echo park paper blog yesterday was a pillow box i wrapped up with the birthday wishes boy collection and coordinating designer dies. here's the link to the short tutorial i put together for this project.

today's card was inspired by a card created by jami sibley that i found pinned over on the taylored expressions pinterest boards. jami created this awesome scene on her card & as soon as i saw it i knew that i wanted to create a scene with that little fawn checking out the flower.

jami's card is packed full of ideas - along with the flower i thought the deer looked super cute hanging out in front of the fence. i also really liked this other card created by jami that has another idea for a sweet scene - this time with bunnies.


to create the blue background i masked off the edges of the card front & applied distress ink with an ink blending tool. then i created the jami inspired scene with all the die cuts & added a bit of stitching to finish it off.

this card featuring a bunch of dots & stripes patterned papers & 6 different designer die sets was up on the echo park paper blog yesterday. to add a bit of interest & dimension to the card i layered a few of the die cuts & added a few enamel dots. i wanted the sun to pop a bit so it was die cut twice - the sun was die cut from the dots side of the patterned paper & the circle was die cut from the stripes side of the patterned paper. i finished it off with a bit of stitching along the bottom.

it's time for my monthly taylored expressions die focus project & this month i am working with a new to me die set - petal pop-ups 2. i paired this die set with a few others - the stem is from the bloom where you're planted set, the vase is one of the vases in the various vases set & the banner is from the build a tag 3 set.


my flower was die cut twice then i layered the two cuts & popped up the outter cut of each yellow petal. i applied adhesive underneath the inner cut of each yellow petal so that they would lay flat. to add a bit of dimension to the blue vase i embossed it with the diagonal stripes embossing folder.

this guy made an appearance on the echo park paper blog yesterday. i punched lots of squares from the jack & jill: jack collection patterned papers & distressed the edges a bit before decorating this wooden bird i found at michael's. the little sign he's holding is a chipboard piece which is also part of the jack collection.

taylored expressions april release day is today - all of the new products we've been sharing sneaks of this week are now available in the te shop. my card today features the new stamp set the world is waiting. the stamp set comes with the glode image & several coordinating sentiments.


i wasn't sure if paper piecing was going to work out with this image - but it was not too bad. just the tiny little bits of land were tricky so i pulled out my super sharp & tiny martha stewart scissors. the rest of the image was fairly easy to cut out with my tim holtz paper crafting scissors.
