the card i'm sharing today shows off the new 100% wool felt that can be found at taylored expressions here - all 50 colors. i paired the felt with a couple of craft dies to create a simple birthday card.



the balloon was first cut from ocean felt, then i die cut the heart from the center and inlaid a heart cut from bubblegum felt. you could easily cut the balloon & the heart in the center all in the same step as the balloon die is open in the center. also, i saved the little blue heart & added it to the inside of the card.

and here is my first 12 tags of 2014 tag - well actually it's an atc. i followed tim's july tutorial pretty closely. but i didn't have any colored glitter to make the sand so i used alcohol ink to color some clear rock candy glitter a nice sandy color.

for today's post i created a clean & simple card using the retiring stamp set cozy cottages. the little toadstool cottage & sentiment are both part of the retiring set.

the little toadstool cottage was paper pieced & has several layers to it. the circles on the roof were easy to trim with scissors - but i had to pull out my craft knife to cut out the inside of the windows so that the yellow paper would show through.
