i have another card to share using the taylored expressions stamp of the month for january - kiss me. after having made a bunch of love/valentine's themed cards recently i decided to use this set in a more everyday/any occasion sort of way.

 
when stamping the flowers i used the brush tip of distress markers to 'color' on the stamp - then gave the stamp a light spritz of water before stamping. for a more watercolored look just spritz on a bit more water before stamping. to finish off the flowers i drew stems with the fine tip of a distress marker.

so this is my 3rd year tackling project life. i haven't shared any of it but a few shots on instagram. in 2012 and 2013 i did a 1-page spread for each week. this year i'm opting for more of a monthly or day-by-day approach. well not every day - more like just documenting days when something worth remembering happens.


and i'm getting really good at using photos from the internet. like that tree we bought after the holidays. totally borrowed that image from restoration hardware. and i screen shot the weather forecast. alot.

i'm hoping i'll have more time this year to add a bit more creative stuff to my filler cards. nothing too crazy - for example, just simple stuff i can cut with my cameo or paper piecing stamped images or practice with mixed media  techniques.

today i have a quick card that uses up those small bits of leftover cardstock or patterned papers. all you need is a few pieces of cardstock each a couple of inches square, some craft dies & stamps. i used the say what? coversation bubbles & a couple of sentiment stamps from taylored expressions.

 
i opted for a love/valentine's theme today because i had a bunch of red & pink scraps on my craft table. but you could easily change up the colors & sentiments for just about any occassion. and the card is pretty flat so it is easily mailable.

my card today for taylored expressions stamp of the month blog hop features the january sotm and paper from the january key ingredients kit. i also used a die from the love m'stache die set which coordinates with the january sotm & the previously released pockets & pages 3x4 photo frame.

 

to add a bit of dimension to the mustache i die-cut it three times from gray cardstock & stacked them - helps it pop off the photo frame layer a bit.

today is the day that the taylored expressions january release products are now available in the te store. i have two more cards to share this release week - the first features the valentine treat toppers craft die set & the sentiment is part of the in my heart stamp set.

the bulls-eye is one of six dies in the valentine treat toppers set - i die-cut the bulls-eye twice & then pieced together the black & white pieces. the heart was cut using the tiniest heart draft die in the heart stacklets set - i liked its size because it is just a bit smaller than the heart in the bulls-eye.

and my second card for today features the a lovely view stamp set & the blooming heats cutting plate. the a lovely view set coordinates with the display window die new this month as well as previously released window craft dies.

 

i stamped the image on cardstock & colored with copic markers - then adhered it to glossy cardstock so that it looks like an instax photo. after adhering a portion of the blooming hearts cut to the card base i tucked the photo behind a couple of hearts.

today is the final day of the taylored expressions january sneak peeks - my project shows off the new tag stacklets 2 & tag reinforcement craft die sets & the my punny valentine stamp set. all the new stamps & craft dies will be available for purchase in the te shop tomorrow at 7am pst.


to create the tag my for fishy treat snack i used a tag die-cut as a base for my stamped sentiment and copic colored fishy bowl. it took just a few minutes to color the fish bowl - but if you have a lot to do a little one could easily help out with some crayola pencils. to secure the tag i popped a brad through the tag and treat packaging.

i'm back with day 2 of the taylored expressions january sneak peeks. today i am showing off two craft dies which are part of the pockets & pages january script die set & a stamp from the love makes the world go round stamp set. all the new stamps & craft dies will be available for purchase in the te shop this thursday, january 9th at 7am pst.

here is a close-up showing how i used the sentiment craft dies. i wanted the sentiment to be part of the same layer as the stamped image - so i die-cut the sentiment from the striped paper & from a white cardstock square. then i stuck the striped sentiment into the negative cut in the white cardstock - be sure to save all those tiny white pieces as you'll need them for the insides of all of the letters. i sort of forgot about that & had to make a second die-cut from white cardstock just for the tiny little pieces.
