i put together my tim holtz 12 tags of 2013 tag for july a couple of days ago and posted it on instagram - but then forgot to post it here until tonite. grunge paper and clear rock candy distress crackle with a bit of distress stain were used for the fan and scallop border - and stains and inks for the background. tim's tutorial for july can be found here.

last week this card went up on the paper smooches stamps blog. this one is easily mailable as it is just a bit of stamping, markers & a strip of washi tape. after stamping the building i colored in the windows so that the super hero would know who is home - although since he has super powers i guess he'd already know.

the card i'm sharing today was one of the three cards i sent in for the stamping royalty contest. to create the card i stamped the sentiment and bird images - the birds are all one stamp by taylored expressions - directly on to the card base then did some quick coloring with a few bright colored copics.

to add a bit of dimension to the card i stamped the balloon on a cardstock scrap, colored, cut it out and attached to the card with a glue dot. then i tied a piece of black thread around the end of the balloon and ran it behind the bird's wing by poking two tiny holes in the card base. Lastly, a strip of washi tape along the bottom and an enamel dot on the party hat.

this week my paper smooches guest designer card features the new beboppin' set paired with the often used sentiment sampler set. the cassette tape was stamped on a few scraps of patterned paper and then cut out and pieced together. the tiny sentiment 'live out loud' is a tim holtz rub-on which is perfectly sized for the cassette. and see how i used a color other than black for my sentiment - well i have a huge stack of colored inks i never use. so my new stamping plan is to pull them out and use them a bit more often.

the card i created for today is a birthday card perfect for a young boy or avid fisherman (or fisherwoman!). to create the boat i stamped the image onto various patterned papers, cut them out and pieced them together. to create the waves i die-cut a scalloped border then used the 'negative' portion.

to kick off the Share Joy campaign taylored expressions will be donating a batch of handmade cards to hospital chaplains throughout the united states. and in the coming months handmade cards for the campaign will be sent to other various charities.

for the month of july i am the guest designer over on the paper smooches stamps blog. up on the blog yesterday went my first card using one of the newest paper smooches stamp releases - super. i stamped this guy a few times, colored him -  with the traditional super hero colors - then cut out the pieces and layered to create a bit of dimension. all of the new stamps for july are available in the paper smooches online store.
