another month another tag for the tim holtz 12 tags of 2013 challenge. for the background of my tag this month i followed tim's tutorial - which can be found here. a handful of distress stains created this awesomely bright background.

a quick card for a challenge that ends tonite over on the paper smooches sparks challenge blog. the challenge this week is to use nautical inspired colors - navy, red, kraft & teal. i've had these stamped images on my desk for a while and finally decided to put them to good use. all of the stamped images as well as the sentiment are from the vogue abode set by paper smooches.

today i have another card for the 'open audition' call for paper crafts magazine's gallery idol competition. a whole lot of paper piecing on this one - and a bit of copic coloring for the different skin tones.

here's the first card that i will be entering in to the 'open audition' call for paper crafts magazine's gallery idol competition. the theme for this round is kid/teen birthday cards - figured an ipod was quite appropriate.

this past week i put together a card for the current moxie fab world challenge - the wonder of watercolor. i think this is the first time that i've watercolored with distress inks - even added in a bit of paper piecing. here's what i did to create the scene:

1. for the background, apply distress ink to watercolor paper with an ink blending tool and use a waterbrush to pull the ink towards the edge of the paper.

2. stamp scene onto the watercolor background and very lightly trace over the stamped image with waterbrush.

3. on a scrap piece of watercolor paper stamp the scene twice. with waterbrush apply distress ink to the houses and trees.

4. cut out images, layer, adhere.
