and one more challenge before the month comes to an end. i wanted to do the tim holtz 12 tags of 2012 last year - but it didn't happen. so this is the year - 12 tags of 2013. i used the same techniques as tim did on his tag - just changed up the look. you can find the tutorial tim created for january here.

another day. another challenge. this time it is the monthly hero arts challenge. one of the challenges was to create an atc. i've never created an atc before - but here's what i came up with. paper piecing a stamped image with a bit of paint and molding paste for the background. a quick run down of what i did...

i used a canvas atc for the base and adhered a book page with gel medium. on top of that went some light molding/modeling paste for the cloud - i used a stencil. next was a bit of blue paint. paper piecing with a bunch of scraps. and finally - a sentiment on a die-cut vellum banner.

i had a bit of free time last night so i decided to see what i could come up with for the current paper smooches color challenge. i haven't particpated in a color challenge in a really, really long time so this was actually a bit of a challenge.

to create the card i started with the lightbulb image and built the rest of the card around it. color was added to the lightbulb with a pink panpastel - received a bunch of these for christmas and now i'm figuring it out how to use them with stamped images.

the rest of the sentiment is stamps from two other sets - i carefully inked just the word that i wanted to stamp.

completed my project life 2012 album just a few days into 2013. and i'm going to go for it again in 2013. last year i used the design f photo pocket pages and did one page for each week. the small sized pockets worked well for photos since most were taken with my iphone. this year i'm going to change it up a bit and use the 4x4 photo sleeve protectors by wrmk. there won't be as many pockets per week so i might end up with some weeks being 2-pagers - but i'm going to try and keep it to just one album again. as for my 2012 december daily - it's about half done, but all my photos have been printed!
