this week purple onion designs and tombow have teamed up and will be sharing projects on their blogs showcasing products from both companies. on today's card i used tombow's dual brush markers to color the pod stamped image and then pieced together and adhered the bird to the card front with tombow adhesives. all the supplies i used are linked below along with more detailed instructions. and don't forget to head on over to the pod blog and tombow blog for more project ideas.
supplies
cardstock: [white] neenah, [watercolor paper] strathmore
paper: [library/toy box collection] crate paper
stamps: [faith the chicken, sentiment/a little bird told me set] purple onion designs
ink: [jet black archival ink] ranger
markers: [n00, 443, 946, 879, 847/dual brush pen] tombow
fiber: [green embroidery floss] dmc
tool: [corner chomper] we r memory keepers
adhesive: [stamp runner permanent adhesive, foam tabs] tombow
instructions
1. make card base from cardstock - my card base is 4" x 4.25".
2. stamp bird image & sentiment onto card base.
4. color bird's legs & tail with markers.
5. stamp bird image onto watercolor paper & patterned paper.
6. on the watercolor paper color bird's body & beak with marker and blender pen - the technique i used was to apply a bit of ink from a marker onto a craft mat, then pick up the ink with the blender pen and color the bird creating a watercolored effect.
7. cut out the bird's body & beak from the watercolor paper & the heart from patterned paper.
8. piece together the bird & adhere to the stamped image on card front - to add dimension to the card i used foam tabs to adhere the heart.
9. hand stitch below the bird with embroidery floss.
Love your card and colouring. I love using the Tombow markers and the control I have when colouring or painting with them.
Thanks for sharing and inspiring! :)
