a rainy day in the city that is. yesterday it was pouring all morning, but luck was with me and it let up by the time we were done with lunch. my day went like this: 1) lunch at kambi. 2) walked to NYU and stopped off at blick to buy some copics. 3) back up to strand to buy a few books. 4) on my way through the west village stopped at kate's paperie. 5) the last stop before the train home was the ink pad to buy a few stamps. not too bad of a shopping day i'd say.

and over on the moxie fab world blog the current challenge is picking up the pieces. i stamped the buildings on to white cardstock, then colored them with markers cut them out, pieced them back together and machine stitched them to the card front.

the newest paper crafts special issues -- go-to sketches -- is finally in stores. i've been waiting for this one to come out for like 6 months now. i'm not sure which sketch # my card goes with, but i'll update this post once i get my comp issue. should be arriving in a day or two. and be sure to check the paper crafts connection blog - they have a sketch challenge going on right now.

when i got home the other night from the copic markers class i was a bit tired of coloring. but since i had just bought all of these new markers - oh and the air-brush attachment as well - i just had to do something with them that night. so i airbrushed a piece of paper blue. i know, not very exciting. but i was mostly just trying to get used to how the thing works. the paper that i air-brushed is a page torn from an old book of kids stories i found a few months back. and the frame you can probably still find at michael's.

this card here sent me on an adventure this past weekend. see how the orange & lemon & lime are all paper pieced with cardstock - well that wasn't my original plan. what i first tried to do was color the stamped images with my watercolor pencils. but i wasn't really liking the watercolor look. i tried again with some martha stewart markers i bought a while ago and had yet to open. this time it was a bit better, but my coloring skills just aren't that great. so i searched online and found a copic class on long island and spent last saturday learning how to color with copic markers. and of course i had to buy some as well. i am now the proud owner of 20 copic markers. only 302 more to go.

a simple 4x5 canvas i put together this morning for the current moxie fab world challenge - diggin' on doilies & lace. lace & doilies aren't really my thing - but i think i made it work. now if you want to see an absolutely amazing project using lace check out this card made by rachel.
