well. maybe. it's officially fall now isn't it? i think today it was more humid than all of summer. totally gross. so i guess my first purple onion designs project for this month it just wishful thinking. but this was a super quick card to make. hardly took any time at all to cut-out the stamped leaves. and used up lots of my scraps.

time for another challenge over on the moxie fab world blog. this time we had to make the focal point of our project a household object. so out i pulled my unity stamp co. pile of stamps and of course there were lots of household item images to choose from. i settled on the tv and paired it with some basicgrey paper i bought this summer. and those antennas - used some 20 gauge wire for them, but it's kind of hard to see in this photo. and even pulled out my box of brads for this card.

here's the last moxie fab challenge i had a chance to participate in - the stamping challenge. looking at my new set of tim holtz christmas stamps and my purple onion designs christmas themed postmark stamps i decided that a postcard would be more fun than a regular ol' card. all stamps on the front of the card are tim holtz, and the ones on the back are all purple onion designs. i also decided to break open a new bottle of crackle paint - the clear rock candy. the collage stamped image on the front on the postcard has a coat of rock candy over it. on the b-side of the postcard the postmark says merry christmas, which you obviously can't see in my picture, but you can take a closer look here.

and here's a card for another moxie fab challenge - the fun/cute challenge. the front of the card is snowman shaped piece of chipboard. to get a pearly snow effect i first painted the snowman white, then used a pearl paint dabber to dab on a coat of pearl paint. when the pearl paint is dabbed on it bubbles up, then as the it dries the bubbles pop creating a pealry snow effect.

challenge #2 from the moxie fab blog - create a vintage/shabby chic project. so that is what i did. the base of the project is a 5"x5" canvas that was painted dark brown with a bit of glimmer mist brushed on after the paint dried, but you can't really see the glimmer in the photos. since the project is supposed to feel "warm" & "comfortable", according to the moxie fab blog, i started with the felt snowflakes (felt is warm & comfortable, isn't it?) and built the project around them. after finishing up the front of the canvas the sides felt a little bare. so i took some cream colored snowflakes and to them added brown distress ink, water & glimmer mist. (again, you can't see the glimmer mist. but it is there!)
