back to the drawing board

here is purple onion designs project #3 for the month of may. i found a couple of these purse picture frames at a.c. moore and figured they would go well with the pod purse stamps. the paper i used for the frame started out light pink, but then when i added distress ink it turned a peachy color. not really what i had in mind, but it works. the "place photo here" stamp is part of a large postcard stamp also by pod.

here is purple onion designs project #2 for the month of may. actually, i think it may have been the last one that i put together. well anyways, my plan for this one was to make the label stamp the center of the design and then add some sort of sentiment inside of it. settled on a simple "hello" with a few flowers. used a bunch of scraps for the flowers and dug through some old paper to find the shade of pink i wanted.

stamps: purple onion designs (deluxe labels, doodle flower sentiment set, script hello set); ink: tsukineko (rich cocoa), stampin' up (purely pomegranate);  cardstock: bazzill (kraft); paper: kma/dirty laundry, scraps of basic grey; jewels: swarovski.

 

and i think i have finally figured out what i want my blog to look like. i've decided to go for the minimalist look as you can tell. i want every post to follow the same format, so i'm going to try out this one. "the story" will be inspired me to create each project/card or something about the process. the "supplies" are pretty self-explanatory, and "in other news" will be be other random things that i want to share. summer is almost here, so i should have lots of time to keep up with the blog...

 

time to start posting my purple onion designs projects for this month. i think this is my favorite card this month. super simple and took like 15 minutes to make. well technically, about 3 hours and 15 minutes. i put glossy accents on the "hi" and heart and had to wait 'til they dried before adhering them.

here's my card for the most recent challenge on the moxie fab blog. the challenge was to make an encouragement card that has a rainy day item on it. so i stamped an umbrella and then cut out the inside part of it so that there is a window to the inside of the card. and  i added glossy accents to it to make it shiny. the umbrella and the sentiment are both from the rain & flowers stamp set by unity stamp company.

no real story behind this one. just a random piece of paper laying around. so i cut it up and made a card. now i'm off to finish season 3 of dexter.

here's another one for mom's day. even though it's monday now where i am, it's ok to post this card since it's still sunday where my mom is.
