i found this big, red, star-shaped ornament at michael's recently. i think it was even 50% off, so like $1.50. i added a bunch of scenic route stuff from last years christmas collection and here's what i ended up with. after i finished it i went back to michael's and bought a few more. at about 6" tall i think it's a bit too big for a regular tree, but maybe it's ok-sized for the rockefeller tree. and i'm definitely going to go see the tree this year.
thanksgiving was fun. and now it is christmas time. i made this tree last christmas and then it got picked up for publication in paper trends which is now called handmade. i found the wooden tree in an etsy shop called say it with letters. and the owner was nice enough to send me their new noel set a couple of weeks ago. and i think i'm going to buy this wreath kit. but i'm thinking about not doing it in christmas colors so that i can leave it up all year. paper & buttons: fancy pants
let me tell you, boy am i thankful that we are now on break. it's so hard to teach the 2 days before break when you know it so close. but at the same time the past 2 days were really great because a lot of kids came home from college and stopped by to see me. i've spoken to quite a few of them online since they went off to college, but being able to see them in person was awesome. especially since they just kind of show up and sneak into the classroom. and my 9th graders just sit there and stare looking all scared of these big college kids. and it's so crazy how much older they look after just being away a few months. so here's a card i made for purple onion designs this month.
twilight the movie. i'm still not really sure what i think of it. it definitely did not do the book the book justice, but it wasn't horrible. i'm rereading the book and as do so i'll probably be even more and more unhappy with the movie. oh well. and a card i made this weekend.
paper & rub-ons: sassafras lass; jewels: doodlebug
netflix on xbox is awesome. i've been anxiously waiting for this feature ever since they announced it earlier this year. now i'm not stuck with just hbo's current line-up. now i have tons more to choose from. and in case you were wondering, cod4 on veteran level is pretty challenging. i beat the game last weekend on an easier level. but now i'm trying to get all the achievements i possibly can. i think it's gonna take me a while. but i have all next week. and here's fallish gift tag i made for purple onion designs. it doesn't even feel like fall here anymore. it's been freezing all week and it's supposed to be even worse tomorrow with the wind chill. people are saying that this is supposed to be a snowy winter here in the northeast. i hope their right because i'm definitely learning how to ski this year.
crazy busy this week with school. then my 10th grader came down with something today. probably the flu and hopefully i don't get it. i've been working on a christmas project for scenic route this week. i should have it finished up soon. then i've got to get started on christmas cards. i swear next year i'm making my christmas cards in july. here's a project i made for the purple onion creative team call a while ago. i used 3 different stamp sets for this one - doodle flowers, and then paisley set and stitches set for the butterfly.
