ALWAYS TAKE THE SCENIC ROUTE

taylored expressions has a summer challenge going on right now - just use anything from their summer release to create a card. my little birdie is out taking a scenic walk along a mountain road that i created with the new serene scenes dies. the sun, mountains, trees & rolling hill are all from the die set. also from the summer release is the sentiment stamp i used which was perfect for this little scene.

SWEET AS CAN BEE

i forgot to post this card several weeks ago when i created it for the may taylored expressions maker challenge. the theme back in may was to create a card using the masking technique. i die cut the hexagon honeycomb pattern from cardstock & used the negative pieces to create a mask. then i applied a good amount of ink to create the honeycomb design on the card base. to make the sweet bee i used a layering stencil which makes it super easy to apply the three colors of ink.

The Secret Life of Bees - have you read it or watched it? i have not yet seen the movie adaptation that came out several years ago but the book is one of my favorites.

SENDING SMILES & SPARKLE

fireworks & sparkly stars since today is the 4th of july. i made this card for the june taylored expressions maker challenge using the sketch shown below. i flipped the sketch around & created a starry sky with an inked background & glimmer paste for the stars. the firework was created with a layering stencil and a few bright colors of ink.

HAVE A HOPPY DAY

last weekend was the annual concord and 9th virtual summer camp cardmaking event. to finish up the event i made this hoppy card using several of the items from our summer camp kit. no stamping on this card - everything was die cut but for the enamel dots. and the tiny little mushroom - definitely my favorite part.

i'm back with a card that i made for the april taylored expressions challenge. this month it is another sketch challenge - i rotated the sketch & then shrunk it down a bit. the rainbow of circles were die cut from scraps of my good cardstock colors.
