back to the drawing board

a work in progress - one of the sewing projects i put together this week. a long overdue gift for a good friend. i again used a charm pack - this time the squares measured 6-inches making this finished pillow about 16-inches.

time for another moxie fab world challenge. this one is all about maps - the map to your heart challenge. to create the 3-d globe i punched five 1.5-inch circles from a map patterned paper, scored and glued them together - and the stand is a digital image i cut with my silhouette. the plan was to use the globe on a card, but i really liked how it turned out so i opted for a little wall hanging instead. to create the base of the wall hanging i layered tissue tape onto a  3/8-inch thick flat panel - i buy these at dick blick and they are 50% off in stores through the end of next month if you happen to have one nearby.

a glimpse of my card that is up on the jane's doodles blog today. the cupcake image is a digital stamp that i printed on some patterned paper that i've had forever. then i used the bottom portion that printed as a template for cutting the denim. and to finish it off i added some glitter spray to the top of the cupcake.

moxie fab world blog

last week the paper crafts magazine blogs were promoting the new special issue cool tools - so i grabbed a couple of screen shots of my cards from the moxie fab world blog. i was asked to make 3 cards for the issue and 1 of them even made it on to the cover - it's the card with the flower. if you didn't make it to the moxie fab world blog last week be sure to check it out - there are a bunch of tool specific challenges going on right now.

yes, another patchwork pillow - but i'm still perfecting my piecing skills and squares have been the easiest way for me to practice. this pillow went together very quickly because there was no cutting this time around - i used charm squares from a pack i bought right around the time i bought my sewing machine - so about 7 months ago.

here's a little gift card and matching envelope that went up on the jane's doodles blog last week. the card measures about 2.5-inches square and i used my silhouette to create the envelope - i resized the original file to about 3.5-inches by 8-inches.
