back to the drawing board

a simple patchwork pillow i was able to finish up just before thanksgiving. i think it's my favorite quilting project so far - although there aren't really that many to choose from yet.

today i have a simple canvas that went up on the jane's doodles blog. the pumpkin is a free digital image - which you can download here - that i resized to about 4-inches wide and printed onto a page torn from an old book. then i used spray ink to paint it - like i did on this card a few days ago. before cutting out the pumpkin i glued the paper to a thin sheet of cardboard to make it a bit more sturdy - this step probably wouldn't be necessary if you are just making a card.

a quick one layer card i made for the purple onion designs blog. as you can see i stayed pretty basic with the coloring - my coloring skills are still in their infancy.

here's another card i made with one of the new stamp sets from purple onion designs. the pumpkins were stamped on a page from an old book then i used spray inks and a paint brush add some to color. and that frame was stamped onto a piece of denim from some old jeans.

and a card i made for the jane's doodles blog this week. i paper pieced the froggy and used pop dots to attach the pieces so that i could make it look like he was holding on to the flag. and that sentiment - i actually used a stamp that said "it's a love thing" but only inked up the "hi" in the last word.

very happy that fall has returned after winter made a brief appearance last weekend. the paper i used for this little wall hanging is from 3 or 4 years ago, but you can buy the digital designs over at the basicgrey online store.

here are a couple of cards i made for today's blog hop featuring the newest stamp set from jane's doodles - vintage christmas.

both of these cards have some texture added to the stamped images. after coloring santa's hat with a marker i added a bit of white fluffy flock. as for the happy snowman - his hat was cut from felt, his scarf is a scrap of fabric, and his arms are twigs from the yard.
